Powertrains
The Single Motor Extended Range powertrain is equipped with 800-volt technology as standard for optimal performance and fast charging times.
Single Motor Extended Range
This rear-wheel drive powertrain is the most energy-efficient choice. Acceleration is smooth with strong torque from a standstill, making it great for both quick commutes and long drives. And the sealed electric motor requires zero maintenance.
One pedal drive
The Single Motor Extended Range powertrain includes one pedal drive to improve efficiency and make driving smoother. Speed up or slow down using just the accelerator. Keep your foot off, and the car will brake to a standstill.
Electric Range
The ES90 is engineered for maximum efficiency, even in challenging weather and road conditions. Figures are based on WLTP testing standards.
Single Motor Extended Range
Estimated range up to 554 km
Range Assistant
A dedicated Range Assistant keeps an eye on your battery level and suggests ways to improve range.
Range figures are preliminary and based on WLTP testing standards obtained under specific testing conditions for the Volvo ES90. These outcomes are not guaranteed. Real-world range varies depending on driving behaviour and other external factors. Vehicle certification pending.
Battery charging duration 10-80%
(DC 300kW)
800-volt technology improves charging times at DC fast charging stations. Go from 10 to 80 per cent in around 22 minutes – just enough time to stretch your legs or grab a quick bite.
Use a DC fast charger with up to 300 kW for the Single Motor powertrain.
Charging reminders
When the remaining range is low, the car automatically reminds about charging. It’s easy to find nearby public charging stations in Google Maps on the centre display. The driver then can add a preferred charging station to the planned route and get navigation directions, estimated time of arrival, and expected charge level on arrival to the charging station. Alternatively, if the charging level at destination is low and no charging station is selected, Google Maps can suggest charging stops along the route and add them to the planned journey.
The range estimate is preliminary and based on the WLTP testing standards. These outcomes are not guaranteed. Real-world range varies depending on driving behaviour and other external factors. Vehicle certification pending. This figure is the typical time to charge from 10 to 80 per cent at a 300kW DC fast charging station. Figures are preliminary and derived from estimates and calculations performed for the Volvo ES90. These outcomes are not guaranteed. Charging times can vary and depend on factors such as outdoor temperature, battery temperature, charging equipment, battery condition and car condition. Vehicle certification pending.
Electric energy consumption combined
(WLTP)
The ES90 is equipped with features like regenerative braking and climate and battery pre-conditioning to help maximise efficiency. Figures are based on WLTP testing standards.

Cargo capacity (max) - second row up
The boot of your ES90 can hold up to 446 litres, making it comfortable for up to five people to travel with bags. Fold down the rear backrests to get up to 1427 litres of space. There’s also a 16-litre compartment under the boot floor and a 27-litre frunk.
Wheel base
The 3.1-metre wheelbase does more than create a stretched silhouette – it transforms the cabin into a spacious retreat. The distance from the front to rear axles means more airiness, legroom and space to stretch out. It's comfort reimagined for a new electric era.
Stability improves, too, thanks to the extended wheelbase. It optimises weight distribution to enhance traction. You'll feel the difference in control, with precise steering at high speeds and while rounding corners. And with wheels set further apart, the car absorbs road surface imperfections more effectively.
Aerodynamic lines. Commanding wheels. A wildly spacious boot. This car breaks the mould in all the right ways.

There are conventional sedans, and then there’s the ES90.
This car moves beyond convention to meet the needs of a modern family.
Delicate lines flow from the bonnet and shoulders into a coupe-style silhouette with an aerodynamic edge. The hatchback-style tailgate makes it as easy to pack for a week-long getaway as the daily school run. The stretched wheelbase creates a poised stance on the road and more room in the cabin. And large wheels punctuate the proportions and make it easier to step inside.

The car’s glossy black details add eye-catching dimension to the car’s exterior trim.

Choose between two wheel designs in 20-inch or 22-inch sizes.
The designs feature sharp angles and hidden bolts to create the illusion of larger wheels with extended spokes. Glossy black inserts contrast beautifully with the wheel’s aluminium surfaces.

The ES90 wasn’t designed to perform in a wind tunnel – it was made to turn heads. And yet, it’s our most aerodynamic car ever.
A body-coloured shield guides air cleanly over the nose. Flush windows, door handles and glazing create an air-tight body. The coupe-style curve of the roofline slices through the air like the superstructure of a luxury yacht. The car gracefully narrows at the rear to reduce drag. And the tilt of the rear windscreen and sharp angle of the spoiler direct air off the back.

Our signature Thor’s Hammer LED headlights come standard. They cast a wide light pattern for excellent visibility and automatically switch between high and low beams as other cars approach.
Standard on the Ultra trim, the High-Definition Pixel headlights provide even sharper night driving. 20,000 pixel modules can instantly rearrange the light pattern to reduce glare and avoid dazzling oncoming drivers. They adapt for up to five vehicles and three objects at once. As you steer into curves, they swivel to light the way.
Look for the light sequence as you approach or leave the car – a sparkling display to mark every trip.

Loading up for the big game? No problem. Weekly shop? Easy. Discounts at your favourite store? Go on. Real life demands real space, and in the ES90, there's room for it all.
The boot of your ES90 holds up to 446 litres. Its flat floor and wide opening make loading simple. Fold the rear seat backrests down to add space.
Open and close the power-operated tailgate hands-free with a kick under the bumper. You can also use buttons on the tailgate and centre display.
